How to Buy Your New Ragdoll Kitten

Steps to Follow when you Buy a kitten:
1. Find an amazing Breeder​ that is TICA/CFA Registered and has HCM-/- Kittens, also make sure they have good communication.
2. put a deposit down to reserve a particular kitten.
3. get your home secure and kitten ready while enjoying pictures and updates of your new kitten.
4. Find a veterinarian who knows about Ragdolls or is willing to learn about the breed so they
can help you keep your new kitten happy and healthy.
5. pay balance owed by two weeks before you take delivery.
6. take delivery of your new kitten
7. Choose a name for your new Kitten
8. Register your ragdoll kitten with TICA
​9. first veterinarian check at 14-16 weeks of age.

Non negotiables to expect with Ragdolls

​Forever Homes are homes that know what to expect and are ready to make that commitment.
  • Ragdolls are a 100% indoor pets. They do not have normal fight or flight instincts (that is what makes them so loving) you have to be prepared to never let your ragdoll outside, which means litter boxes are a must have. (see our Owning an Aspen Ragdoll page for our Breeder recommendations on what will make your life easier).
  • Ragdoll's require grooming, their beautiful bunny coat sheds and so to reduce hairballs and mats, your ragdoll will need regular brushing. Plan on about 5 min. twice a week.
  • Ragdolls are EXTREMELY!! social, if your ragdoll will be spending more than a couple hours every day home alone, we suggest you get two. 
  • Snuggle time is a must. Ragdolls need lots of snuggle time. If you are looking for the friendly but aloof cat, don't buy a ragdoll, these cats LOVE their family and need to snuggle often. We actually are not joking.

 Ragdoll Homework

These Cats are special and very expensive so you want to do your homework.
  • Look for a Responsible Breeder. CFA/Cat Fanciers of America and TICA/ The International Cat Association is a wonderful resource to find Responsible Breeders and also to become educated about breed standards and breed concerns like health issues. We are proud members of Both Organizations. All our cats and litters are TICA registered Ragdolls
  • Parents should be HCM -/- this is a genetic heart problem ragdolls can pass down to their kittens if the parents are tested positive. A responsible breeder will have DNA tests to prove all of their breeding males and females are HCM -/- you should receive a copy of parents DNA HCM results with your kitten. All of our Cats are HCM -/-
  • Registration Papers: No Papers/ No guarantee your buying a real Ragdoll!!! Registration papers are a must. Don't fall for "well we just think the Tica is too expensive to join" a breeder does not have to join the TICA to register purebred kittens. The cost to register a whole litter is $12. All of our Kittens are sold with their TICA registration papers.
  • Mentors are a must. If a breeder has been in business any less than 5 years I would be asking about their mentors. I have been breeding for less than 5yrs so I rely a lot on excellent information from my Mentors DazzlingRagdolls.com and RustsRagdolls.com ​These two women have years and years of experience and guide me over every possible concern so that my kittens are spectacular!
  • Check references. Your breeders Veterinarian or Mentors or past customers can give you valuable information about the cattery and its practices.
  • Meet the parents. Ragdolls never meet a stranger, IF they are well loved and socialized.

Our Pricing/Contracts/Waiting List

We are excited you might want one of our precious babies!
  • Deposit: We require a $250 non-refundable deposit, to be put on our waiting list or to put an available kitten on hold. this deposit is applied to the purchase price of the kitten.*See Below
  • Cost: $1950+4% sales tax kitten price.
  • How to pay: Deposits and Balances can be paid via cash, venmo, zelle or check. PayPal+5% fee will be added to PayPal payments, Credit Card+3% fee added.
  • Contract: we require every new owner to sign a contract that the cat will not be an outdoor cat or let outside. the kitten will not be used for breeding. The kitten will not be de-clawed. (ragdolls are so easy to train, this cruel and inhumane procedure is never necessary). The contract also gives the buyer a limited money back health guarantee that the animal is in excellent condition, up to date on all age appropriate vaccines, dewormed and a veterinarian health certificate saying the kitten is healthy. As well as the HCM-/- DNA test results for the parents.
  • Shipping: We do not ship kittens via freight. We deliver kittens personally at your expense, if they need to be flown somewhere. We are willing to deliver kitten to the airport to fly home with you if you want to do the traveling.

  • Waiting List: The waitlist may seem long but when you have as many moms as we do it goes by very fast. many of our waitlist individuals are waiting for something specific mom to give birth. getting on the waitlist doesn't mean all the people ahead of you have to take a kitten before you can get one. I often offer kittens within a week or two of someone getting on the list.
  • *Please Note: Because Kittenhood is when everyone wants to buy their Kitten. Hold Deposits are FINAL and NONREFUNDABLE when putting a kitten on Hold, Your deposit is also NON-TRANSFERABLE, after choosing and placing a deposit/hold on a kitten. So choose carefully before making a deposit/hold. Once a kitten is placed ON HOLD for you, we do not allow changes. This policy ensures that no kitten misses out on their forever home.
