The Life of Our Breeding Ragdoll CatsAt Aspen Ragdolls, the well-being of our cats always comes first. From the moment they arrive as kittens to the time they retire, each of our Ragdoll breeding adults is raised with love, care, and the highest standards of health and safety.
0–1 Year: Growing Up with LoveOur future breeding cats come to us as kittens from trusted, ethical breeders across the United States. They are raised right in our home, where they receive constant affection, gentle socialization with family and friends, and positive interactions with other household pets.
During this time, we complete comprehensive DNA testing to ensure they are 100% clear of over 50 known genetic diseases.
1–4 Years: Parenthood with PurposeBetween the ages of one and four, our Ragdolls become part of our carefully managed breeding program. We allow our females to have no more than one litter every six months so they can rest, recover, and stay healthy. We monitor their weight and well-being closely between litters.
All adult cats receive high-quality nutrition, including prenatal vitamins, lactation supplements, and health support for optimal care. Our males are given specialized stud vitamins and monitored for health and temperament.
We are proud to meet and exceed state health and care standards. All of our adult Ragdolls, their living conditions, and their veterinary health records are regularly inspected and approved by the PACFA agency (Pet Animal Care Facilities Act).
Age 4: A Loving RetirementAt around 4 years old, our breeding Ragdolls are spayed or neutered. Once they are fully recovered from their surgery, we begin the process of placing them into hand-selected, loving forever homes.
Because we’ve raised them from kittenhood, we know each cat’s unique personality and can help match them with the perfect family.
